2 new games: Ur and Summy

 (Wednesday June 10 2009)

We have added 2 new games Ur (also known as the Royal Game of Ur) and Summy.

The Royal Game of Ur  is one of the oldest known board games and originates from Mesopotamia. The original rules are not known. On YourTurnMyturn.com we play Ur by the rules as defined by the British Museum. It is arguable if those rules are correct, but we find these rule deliver the best online game experience. Ur is a so called Race game (like backgammon and Ludo). More information in the rules.

Summy is a new game from Corné van Moorsel (Cwali). Summy is a kind of Scrabble, but them with sums. More information in the rules.

Summy a great game..gets you thinking. Enjoying it ----THANKS

Reaction of Ellen (28-07-2009, 18:48):
I love summy. It\'s just no fun that people abuse the rules to make sums like 0:8765=0 or 0x999976=0. You can\'t win if you don\'t use those stupid sums. So I\'ve done it myself icon_redface.gif. But it takes a lot of the fun out of the game.

Reaction of Spann (01-08-2009, 02:11):
@Ellen - what makes those sums any more \"stupid\" than others? I play them relatively infrequently, and they are rarely amongst my best scoring plays.

Reaction of Spann (02-08-2009, 18:20):
Well that\'ll learn me. No sooner had I made that comment than my opponent pulled 0x62878677 = 0 for 51 points icon_eek.gif

Reaction of Ellen (14-08-2009, 21:37):
I\'ve played summy more often now. It\'s not as easy as it seemed to be to play the 0. And as Spann says: rarely high scores! icon_redface.gif

Reaction of Seawolf2 (05-09-2009, 02:22):
Where can we read the RULES to these two new games, please? icon_eek.gif

Reaction of bram (09-09-2009, 10:38):
@seawolf: see the homepage, there you can find all links to the rules.
